Meehan Drilling Ltd were awarded the project to drill a new borehole at Kilmessan water treatment plant (WTP) in accordance with the EPA Drilling Water Advice Note No.14. The new borehole is to provide raw water with a yield of 500m³ per day.
The new borehole was drilled with a steel casing diameter of 323mm, the borehole drilled to a total depth of 120 metres and a 224mm boode liner was installed. Following completion of the project, a 3-day pump test was carried out on the borehole.
